The IT Systems Group is responsible for ...
- Hardware located in the computer center, in particular its acquisition and configuration. Setup, installation, monitoring, and maintenance is done in cooperation with the IT Operations Group
- Providing Linux installation and configuration management systems
- Providing Windows installation and configuration management systems as well as underlying directory services
- Design, implementation and operation of large scale batch systems and high-performance clusters
- Support for scientific applications and workflows is organized in close cooperation with other IT groups
- Large virtualization infrastructures with different scopes, ranging from classical server consolidation with a focus on high-availabiliy to modern cloud based IaaS
- Support and administration of storage systems in close cooperation with other IT groups
- Providing printing services from hardware consulting to print servers
