Why appointments I’m invited to do not appear automatically in my calendar?

There is an option to automatically display appointments you are invited to in your calendar. By default, this setting is disabled. If needed, you can enable it as follows:

1. Open the mail service website via https://mail.desy.de.

2. Ensure you are in the classic view of the web service. See "How do I switch between classic and modern web view?" for instructions.

3. Once in the classic web view, click on:
   "Settings" → "Calendar"

4. Enable the option "Automatically add received appointments to calendar".

Please note: Automatically added appointments do not count as acceptances. To confirm your attendance (which will also notify the organizer), you must explicitly accept the appointment—either by clicking in the invitation email or right-clicking the pre-added appointment in your calendar and selecting “Accept.

How do I switch between classic and modern web view?

The Zimbra service website (https://mail.desy.de) offers two views: classic and modern. In general, the classic view is recommended.

Important note: While the modern view can also be used, it currently has some limitations and offers fewer configuration options than the classic view.

Classic View

If you are in the classic view, your menu bar will look like this:

To switch from here to the modern view, click the arrow next to your name in the top-right corner and select "Modern Web Client" from the dropdown menu:

If you are in the modern view, your menu bar will look like this:

To switch from here to the classic view, click the gear icon next to your name in the top-right corner and select "Classic Web App" from the dropdown menu.
