Mount WebDAV drive under Windows

This web page describes how you can view and work with your Sync & Share data directly in Windows Explorer. By not having the data locally, you save disk space compared to using the Sync & Share client. However, this may slow down access to the data at times because it is an active connection.

Preliminary Steps

Please create a so-called app password first to establish the connection. You do not need your regular account password for this type of connection.

Procedure

  1. Open Windows Explorer with the keys Windows + E.
  2. With the right mouse button click on This PC and select the entry Map network drive (Figure 1).

  1. In the field "Folder", enter the following address (Figure 2)

    https://syncandshare.desy.de/remote.php/dav/files/USERNAME/
    !! replace USERNAME with your account name !!

    Activate the available connection options and click "Finish".

  1. In the next window, enter your username and the app password you created for this connection, activate the checkbox "Save credentials" and click "OK" (Figure 3).

  1. If the connection has been established successfully (this may take a moment), the drive and its data will be displayed in Windows Explorer immediately afterwards (Figure 4).
