As an international research laboratory DESY needs fast, high bandwidth internet connectivity. As of today DESY has two 10 GBit/s lines to the X-WiN, the german reserach and education network operated by the DFN.
Beside this DESY has dedicated 10 GBit lines to the DESY location Zeuthen and Karlsruhe (GridKa).
