Problems with printing on network printers (Print-Queues)
- From which application program you are printing (e.g. Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe Reader, Browser).
- On which print queue of the printer you are printing.
- If it is a DESY PC and with which operating system it is equipped.
- In which network your PC is located (DESY network, Eduroam or Science Hotspot/guest network).
Hardware problems with printers
Ricoh rented devices
For all Ricoh printers rented through IT, the UCO is responsive to hardware problems and will notify a Ricoh technician:in if necessary. For this purpose, it is helpful to send a detailed description of the problem to uco@desy.de. In case of problems with the print quality, a scanned print sample can also be helpful (as long as the confidentiality of the printout does not speak against it).
Plotters and other printers
For large format printers, the UCO will provide full support for the public plotter pubcp4a0plotter in building 2b.
- Order consumables such as ink/toner, print heads, paper.
- Replace consumables
- Support during handling of the device
- Repairs inside and outside the manufacturer's warranty
Consumables
The group that procured the printer is always responsible for ordering and replacing consumables.
