Welcome to the DESY-Registry

Registry 2 Logo

Welcome to the documentation pages of the new Registry. After almost 20 years, the well-known Registry at DESY will be replaced by its successor, Registry 2. In the course of this change, there are changes in the handling and usage of the graphical user interface. In addition, the version 2.0 registry provides new, useful functions and intuitive operating elements.

This documentation is aimed at end users and is intended to provide assistance in the daily use of Registry 2. For administrators, documentation is available on the following website: Registry 2 Information for Administrators (currently only available in German)

We have made every effort to ensure that this documentation is complete and correct. However, as the new account management system is being put into operation, further functions will be added or possibly changed, so we ask for your understanding if the documentation does not yet appear to be fully up-to-date and complete in some places.

What is the Registry and what can I use it for?

The Registry is a tool with which IT accounts and their access permissions are centrally managed at DESY. The Registry provides persons who are in possession of a DESY account with the following functions, among others:

  • Change of your DESY password for access to various services (e.g. Windows, e-mail account).
  • Change of your DESY WLAN password (only for WLAN authorized accounts).
  • Viewing the data of your DESY account(s).
  • Accepting and viewing your personal user agreements.
  • Contact information for the administration and supervision responsible for you.

How do I access the Registry?

The Registry can be accessed on the internal network via a web browser with the following address: https://registry.desy.de - From the time of the changeover in Q4 2022, the web interface of the new Registry version can be accessed this way.

Login:

  • You can log in there with your DESY account name (often also "username") and your DESY password.
  • If you have access to multiple accounts, you can log in with all of them. In this case, use the respective account name and the password assigned to the account.

How do I get support for the Registry?

If you have any questions or problems, please read this documentation. Your case may have already been addressed in the Registry 2 FAQ. If you still need support, please contact your namespace administrator or the UCO (uco@desy.de, Tel: 5005).
