About
Privileges gives you temporary administrator rights.
To request admin rights, simply click on the Privileges icon in your Dock.
Privileges is an application for macOS which allows users to work as a standard user for day-to-day tasks, by providing a quick and easy way to request administrator rights.
Working as standard user instead of an administrator adds another layer of security to your Mac and is considered a security best practice.
User guide
To request admin rights, simply click on the Privileges icon in your Dock.
- Launch Privileges > Click the Privileges Dock icon.
- Click on Request Privileges.
- You now have admin rights for 20 minutes.

Details
How Privileges is configured:
- Administrator privileges are revoked at user login.
- Revoke interval is set to 20 minutes, but can be adjusted in the Privileges settings.
- Expiring administrator rights can be renewed in a notification one minute before the administrator rights expire.
